In late October 2025, I started taking Zepbound after years of struggling with my weight. Like a lot of people starting a GLP-1 medication, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting into. I quickly realized giving myself a shot once a week was just the beginning of a learning curve I didn’t know I was on. I had to completely rethink how I ate, how I approached nutrition, and, really, my relationship with food in general. I had to create a new ‘normal’ because my current lifestyle wasn’t going to sustain what a GLP-1 medication demanded if I wanted to be successful.
I started this blog at a friend’s suggestion. She had just started taking Zepbound too, and I assumed she’d be just as interested as I was in the protein content, or supplements, or meal planning, or side effects, or…. You get the picture. I learned that we all approach weight loss differently. I take a very structured view, while she flies by the seat of her pants.
This site has become a place for me to explore and share what I’m learning about GLP-1 medications—and what it looks like rebuilding your life around the demands of a drug. It might sound a little dramatic, but it’s working. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight, I’m in a lot less pain, and I’ve never been happier. So I’ll discuss the good and bad, usually in a realistic and practical manner, while hopefully keeping my sense of humor along the way.
I’ll cover all the things I wish someone had explained to me in a bit more detail than simply “watch out for side effects” and “don’t eat certain foods.” I wanted something that didn’t feel like a medical professional wrote from a detached, clinical perspective with no firsthand experience. So this is my attempt at doing just that. I’ll cover appetite loss, food noise, nutrition, recipes, convenience foods, side effects, and the science behind the medication – basically, everything I’ve learned about building a sustainable alternative lifestyle.
I know you’re probably curious about me — what I look like, where I started my weight loss journey, and where I end up. I’ll update regularly, so check back and follow my progress.

This picture was taken in August of 2025, about two months before I started the medication. I weighed approximately 365 lbs. At one point, a few years ago, I got up to 430, but I don’t have pictures from that time.

This picture was taken the first week of April 2026. I weighed 317 lbs. I started at 371 lbs., so I’d lost 54 lbs. since mid October, 2025. (22 weeks.)
The difference between these two pictures isn’t huge, but I’d dropped 3 pants sizes and 3 shirt sizes. It’s a start!
